ROCKFORD - The Rockford Interfaith Council presents the 29th Annual Mayor's Interfaith Thanksgiving Service beginning at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Fisher Memorial Chapel, Rockford University, 5050 E. State St., Rockford.

Music will be provided by Dorothy Paige Turner with the Council Choraleers, as well as other invited guest performers. Rev. Jim Roberts will speak about how "Stories Make a Neighborhood."

Faith communities will offer one minute prayers, including Hindu, Native American, Jewish, Zoroastrian, Christian, Buddhist, Unitarian Universalist, Baha'i and Muslim.

This year the Interfaith Council will present the "Kanwal Prashar International Peace Award" to an individual or organization that has made strides for peace in the community.

The event is free and open to the public. A free will offering will be taken to be used as an award for next year's winner.

Refreshments will be provided after the service.
