BELOIT - The Beloit Public Library has events planned throughout the month of July. The "traveling rock" will be hiding in the stacks. Patrons who find it and return it to the service desk will receive a prize. Also, kids can reduce their overdue fines by reading.

All events are free and open to the public, although some may require registration. Children ages 8 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

• Baby Play Date - 10 a.m. on July 5 and 19. For babies ages 2 and younger.

• Crafternoon - 1-3 p.m. on July 7. For adults. Crafts, creativity, conversation and camaraderie. All materials provided.

• FABL Film Night "The Greatest Showman" - 6 p.m. on July 9. For adults. Refreshments.

• ABC Playgroup - 10 a.m. on July 10, 17 and 24. A fun and free way for 3-4 year olds to learn reading skills.

• Boost Your Brain Health: Staying Sharp at Any Age - 10 a.m. on July 10. Presented by the Alzheimer's and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin. For adults.

• Tales and Treats - 2-3:15 p.m. on July 10, 17 and 24. For ages 6-12. Stories, trivia and creativity. Treat provided.

• Preschool Discovery Time - 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on July 11, 18 and 25. For kids ages 6 and younger.

• Tween Time: Rocks Rock with Welty - 2-3:30 p.m. on July 18. For ages 8-13. Hands-on activities with Welty Environmental Center.

• Rainbow Movie Series: "Call Me By Your Name" - 6 p.m. July 11. For adults, refreshments provided. Discussion afterwards.

• Stateline Night Writers - 6-8 p.m. on July 11, 18 and 24. For adults.

• Teen Gaming Club - 5:30 p.m. on July 11, 18 and 25. For ages 12-18. Bring your own Yu-Gi-Oh or gaming cards.

• Movie Sing-Along: Rock Dog - 2-4 p.m. on July 12.

• Stateline Genealogy Club - 10 a.m.-noon on July 13. For Adults. "Remembering Frances Willard" by Elizabeth Martiniak and Julie Orvis.

• Music @ 605 - 2 p.m. on June 16 in the Blender Cafe featuring The Tony Castaneda Latin Jazz Band.

• Nonprofit Showcase and Volunteer Fair - 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on July 17. Join local area nonprofits to learn what they have to offer, consider volunteering.

• Tween Time: Prehistoric Predators with Burpee - 2-3:30 p.m. on July 18. For ages 8-13. Hold and examine real bones, teeth and claws. Advanced registration is required.

• Broadway & Hollywood: Great Musicals: "Viva Las Vegas" - 6 p.m. on June 20. For adults. Movie treats provided.

• Hoo Haven - 2 p.m. on July 21. For all ages.

• Rock Ladies of Madison Teen Program - 2 p.m. on July 23. Program will provide earth science enrichment for youth of all ages.

• Tween Time: Hip Hop 'Til U Drop - 2-3:30 p.m. on July 25. For ages 8-13. See a hip hop demonstration by Miss Andrea's Dance Factory.

• 4th Wednesday Book Discussion - 7 p.m. on July 25. For adults. "LaRose" by Louise Erdrich.

• Our Planet is Alive! - 6 p.m. on July 26. Program by Spring Steidl of Rock County Rocks and Gems.

• Rainbow Reads: A Book Club - 2-3:30 p.m. on July 28. For adults. LGBT friendly books and discussion.
