MADISON, Wis.—Honononegah graduate Gabe Roessler hit his first home run of the season as Madison College downed McHenry Community College 7-4 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Region 4 Tournament Saturday.

The Wolfpack (45-9) beat McHenry 5-1 earlier with Roessler belting a double in that game at Robin Roberts Stadium.

With the series sweep, Madison College advances to the NJCAA D-II World Series to be held at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid, Okla., starting this Saturday.

Roessler, the Wolfpack’s starting shortstop, is hitting .363 (58-160),. He has scored 46 runs, with 12 doubles, two triples and 36 RBIs. He has stolen 13 bases in 14 tries and struck out only 14 times all season.
