APPLETON, Wis.—Beloit College’s women’s soccer team took control of its own postseason fate Tuesday night with a huge 2-0 win at Lawrence University.

The Midwest Conference Tournament race comes down to the wire with three teams battling for the final two spots. The top four squads advance to the league tournament and Knox and Lake Forest have already secured berths. Lawrence held the third spot until Tuesday when Monmouth leapfrogged them with a win over Cornell.

Now the Scots hold the third spot with 13 points. Following Beloit’s win Tuesday, the Bucs and Vikings are tied for fourth with 12 points with just one regular-season contest remaining.

The Bucs can punch their ticket by defeating Cornell in their final home game on Saturday. The other match to determine the tourney field will be Lawrence hosting Monmouth.

Tuesday, the Bucs jumped in front at the 15-minute mark on a score by Bri Paez off a corner kick.

Mikaila Davis gave Beloit (6-5-4, 3-1-3) a two-goal cushion in the 61st minute. Audrey Ketterer and Briana Arteage combined for the shutout with two saves.
