BELOIT—Beloit Memorial finished sixth in the rugged Big EIght Conference Swimming Championships it hosted on Saturday at the BMHS Natatorium.

The Purple Tide finished with 114 points. Middleton won the meet with 508, followed by Sun Prairie (494.5), Madison West (364), Madison Memorial (342), Verona/Mount Horeb (311), Beloit, Madison East (85.5), Janesville Parker (42), Janesville Craig (20) and La Follette (16).

Junior Ben Saladar posted Beloit’s top finishes, taking fifth place in the 100 freestyle (49.00) and sixth place in the 100 backstroke (55.58).

Anthony Jacobson was seventh in the 200 individual medley (2:02.43) while diver Decarlos Nora also was seventh (310.85 points).

The 200 medley relay of Saladar, Jacobson, Kana Wong and D.J. Light was eighth in 1:42.83. The 400 freestyle relay of Saladar, Light, Ben Sill and Jacobson was ninth in 3:26.23.

Jacobson was ninth in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.07).

Beloit Memorial will also host WIAA Division 1 sectional competition Friday and Saturday. Diving is on Friday at 6 p.m. The swimming portion is on Saturday.
