GRAND CHUTE, Wis. - For the first time since the opening week of the season, the Beloit Snappers have won three games in a row.

The Snappers defeated the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 4-1 Monday afternoon.

The Snappers broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning when Ryan Gridley singled home Cobie Vance.

Beloit added three more runs in the seventh inning, scoring on a Devin Foyle double and a two-run single by Joseph Pena.

The Timber Rattlers broke up the shutout in the ninth inning when Leugum Castillo singled home JeVon Ward to make it 4-1.

With the tying run on first base, the Snappers brought on closer Eric Marinez, who recorded the final two outs without incident to record his ninth save of the season.

Aiden McIntyre, like Marinez a Midwest League all-star, improved to 2-4 on the season after throwing five scoreless frames. Ty Damron pitched two scoreless fames out of the bullpen, bringing his season total to 9 1-3 innings without allowing a run. Damron has allowed just two hits while striking out 11 this season.

The Snappers return home for a three-game series against Quad Cities. The opener will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
