POPLAR GROVE, Ill. - North Boone senior quarterback Britton Morris will play for the West squad in the 45th annual Illinois High school Shrine Football Game on June 15.
The contest will be played at Tucci Stadium on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill.
Kick-off is at 11 a.m. with pregame festivities starting at 10 a.m.
Morris is one of 180 of Illinois' best prep football players participating in the game, which raises money for Shriners Hospital for Children.
Morris, a 5-foot-11, 190-pounder, is North Boone's all-time leading passer with 7,501 career passing yards and 83 touchdown passes in his three years as a starter. He completed 469 of 782 career passes (60 percent) and also rushed for 1,751 career yards and 28 TDs.
As a senior, Morris earned Daily News Player of the Year honors as he led North Boone to an 8-3 record and its first playoff victory in 15 years. He completed 198 of 343 passes for 3,131 yards and 36 TDs, leading the Big Northern Conference in every passing category.He will join ISU as a preferred walk-on.
