BELOIT - The Beloit Turner baseball team made it a perfect 19-0 on the season with an 8-0 shutout of Clinton Thursday in Beloit.
Clinton starting pitcher Drew Holloway held the Trojans scoreless in the first three innings before Turner scored four times in the fourth, thanks in part to drawing three walks.
Cory Walker had an RBI double and Drew Ries hit an RBI single to highlight the four-run rally.
Walker struck again in the fifth with a two-run double, and was outstanding on the mound as well. Walker threw four innings and allowed three walsk but no hits. Drew Ries followed with two innings and Grant Revels threw the final frame to complete Turner's second shutout of Clinton this week.
The Trojans will play a pair of challenging games on the road Saturday when they play Catholic Memorial and Lake Country Lutheran.
• GOLF: Beloit Memorial's Griffin Oberneder shot a 5-over 77 to place sixth in Thursday's Big Eight Conference meet held at Evansville Golf Club.
Oberneder was steady, shooting a 39 on the front nine and a 38 on the back nine.
Corey Brown shot a 100, Alex Hoey shot 101 and Aiden Wright finished with a 107 for the Purple Knights. Middleton won the meet with a 307.
• SOFTBALL: BRODHEAD 18, PALMYRA-EAGLE 8: The Cardinals scored 11 runs in the fourth inning to rally from an 8-0 deficit and take command of the game against the visiting Panthers in the regionals of the WIAA Division 3 playoffs.
Brodhead ended the game by scoring seven more runs in the fifth inning.
Hannah Myhre led Brodhead with three hits, while Cora Hafen added a pair of doubles.
Brodhead advances to take on Poynette Tuesday.
