GRAND CHUTE, Wis. - The Beloit Snappers salvaged a split of Tuesday's doubleheader at Wisconsin and stopped their six-game losing streak in the process.
The Snappers took the nightcap 7-6 after dropping the first game 4-2.
Beloit let a 6-2 lead slip through their collective fingers in game two before coming up with a run in the top of the seventh to secure the win.
The Timber Rattlers scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to knot the game at 6-6 before Austin Beck led off the Snappers seventh with a single.
Jordan Devencenzi sacrificed him to second, and after a flyout, Jesus Lopez recorded the game's biggest hit, a single to bring Beck with the go-ahead run.
Nick Highberger, who has yet to allow a run in 8 2-3 innings this season, recorded the game's final five outs to earn the win. Beck finished the game with three hits, while Devencenzi and Lopez each finished with two.
Mickey McDonald reached base three times and finished the game with four stolen bases.
In the opener, the Snappers held a 2-1 advantage before the Rattlers tied it with a run in the fifth, then scored twice more in the sixth to secure the win.
