East Troy knocks off Clinton

EAST TROY, Wis. - The Clinton boys basketball team gave East Troy a solid game but couldn't overcome the first-place Trojans Thursday night, losing 80-66.

Clinton, which trailed 41-34 at halftime, was led by Caleb Gracyalny, who hit five 3-pointers and 19 points. Zach Krause finished with 14.

East Troy was led by the Rock Valley Conference's leading scorer, A.J. Vukovich, who scored 26 points despite going just three-for-nine at the free-throw line. Michael Polakoski added 16 for the Trojans, who improved to 12-1 in conference play and remained one game ahead of McFarland.

The Cougars dropped to 3-10 in RVC play and 5-12 overall.

• BIG FOOT 63, JEFFERSON 57: The Chiefs rallied for their first win of the conference season Thursday night. Big Foot trailed 23-20 at halftime but put up 43 second-half points.

AJ Courier led the way with 17 points while Max Hildebrandt and Logan Eischeid each added 13 for Big Foot. Zach Peterson led Jefferson with 15 points.

• STILLMAN VALLEY 58, SOUTH BELOIT 52: The SoBos dropped a tight road decision Thursday night to the Cardinals. Travis Keen led the SoBos with 17 points, while DeAndre Dogan added 12 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.

Adam Pilz was also in double figures with 10 points. The SoBos will host Faith Lutheran Monday night.

• GIRLS BASKETBALL: SUN PRAIRIE 70, BELOIT MEMORIAL 25: The Purple Knights trailed 38-9 at halftime and fell to 0-13 in Big Eight play with the loss.

The Cardinals, ranked third in the latest AP WIAA Division 1 girls basketball poll, started the game on a 12-0 run. Sun Prairie was led by Elle Moore's 12 points.

• DEERFIELD 44, PARKVIEW 39: The Vikings held a 21-17 lead at halftime but couldn't hang on for the victory, losing for the second time this week.

Parkview was led by Taylor Burrell and Amber Hudson,who both finished with 12 points.
