Beloit, WI -- Alleta "Lee" Schmuck, 95, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020 at the Suites of Beloit. Lee was born October 1, 1924 in East St. Lois, IL, the daughter of Frederick and Lucy (Bryant) Thompson. Lee was a graduate of Capron High School, Capron, IL. She married Harry Schmuck on September 7, 1943 in Ellsworth, IL. He predeceased her on September 7, 1998. Lee was employed by National Sewing Machine before becoming a fulltime mother. She was a former member of New Hope United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women Homemakers group. Lee attended First Baptist Church in Beloit for many years. She enjoyed sewing, bus trips, reading and animals.
Survivors include her children: Mary (James) Hazelberg of Surprise, AZ, Jean Scott of Aurora, CO, Mark Schmuck of Beloit, WI, and Deanna Smith of Beloit, WI; grandchildren: Erin (Chris) Profit, Amy Hazelberg, Deanna Scott, Jessica (Josh) Dobratz, Michael Smith, and Kelly Needham; great grandchildren: Abby, Evan, Jamison, Derek, David, Ashton, Kyle and Kayla; sister, Evelyn Burow of Marengo, IL; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, son James in 1965 and sister Garaldine Adamson.
Funeral service for Lee will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2020 at First Baptist Church, 617 Public Avenue, Beloit, WI, with Reverend Walt Hoshaw officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery, South Beloit, IL. Visitation of remembrance will be from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Monday in the church.
