Bruce LeRoy Buckner, 72, of Rockford, died, Friday, September 6, 2019 at Fair Oaks Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in South Beloit, IL.
Bruce was born on September 28, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Lloyd and Ethel Mae (Borkenhagen) Buckner. He graduated in 1964 from South Beloit High School.
Bruce was the founder and owner of Express Cutting Tools in Rockford. He was an avid fan of both the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
Bruce is survived by his mother, Ethel Buckner; friend, Mary Edwards; cousins, Edith Carlson, Roland Mathewson, Elaine Nelson, Roger Borkenhagen, Judy Clark, Bill Borkenhagen, George Borkenhagen, Robert Borkenhagen, Kathy Solum, Ogden Hillison, Janet (Jim) Deeds, Barb (Bill) Sather, Eileen Hillison, Louise Humphries, Adlai Hillison Sr, Keith Hillison Sr, and Steven Hillison Sr.; nephews, Larry Buckner Jr, Leroy Buckner, and their families; and all his loyal employees who were like family to Bruce. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Buckner; and brother, Larry Buckner.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to either, Plymouth United Methodist Church, Plymouth Cemetery Association or to OSF St. Anthony Hospice in Rockford.
Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home, 424 Prospect St, Beloit, WI 53511. Services are 1:00 p.m., Monday with visitation beginning at noon at Plymouth United Methodist Church, 5614 S. County Road H, Orfordville, WI 53576.
