Stephanie Ellyn Meligan, 41, of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019 at The University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
Stephanie was born on March 7, 1978, in Beloit, the daughter of Steven Scott and Roberta Ellen (Olsen) Hansen. She graduated in 1996 from Beloit Memorial High School, and then Blackhawk Technical College in 2012 with an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. On May 28, 1999, Stephanie married David Scott Meligan in Janesville, Wisconsin. During and after high school Stephanie worked at McDonald's in Beloit and eventually became a manager. Stephanie then worked at SSI Technologies in Janesville, and lastly as a Federal and State case manager at Rock Valley Community Programs from 2012 to 2015.
Stephanie will be remembered for her big heart, always being there if you needed help, and seemingly to always be working. Stephanie enjoyed sitting back with a good book or theatre productions. Stephanie was a fanatic when it came to watching and rooting for the Chicago Cubs. All that said, the most important part of Stephanie's life were her husband, sons, and grandson.
Stephanie is survived by her husband, David Meligan of Beloit; sons, Dakota Meligan, and Derek Meligan both of Beloit; grandson, David Alexander Meligan of Beloit; father, Steve (Kathy) Hansen of Beloit; brothers, Kevin Hansen of Beloit Patrick Martin of Rockton, Illinois, and Brian Taber of Beloit; sister, Dawn Taber of Beloit; father and mother-in-law, David and Janet Meligan of Beloit; sister-in-law, Dawn Meligan; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her mother; and step-father, Dennis Martin.
In lieu of plants or flowers memorial donations can be given to either the family or the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin, 222 South Arch Street, Janesville, WI 53548.
