Stewart

Pat "Pearl" Stewart, 82, of Beloit, WI, peacefully entered Heaven on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at the Suites at Beloit.

She was born September 30, 1936 in Scotland, the daughter of Catherine O' Donnell and Bernard Cairns. Pearl married George Stewart on December 1, 1956 in St. Agatha Church, Scotland. He predeceased her on February 14, 2017.

Pearl was formerly employed by Bungalow, Dutch Kitchen, Gene's German Restaurant, White Star, Chuck's, CarTunes and Liberty Inn as a waitress. Working in restaurants made her happy as she made many lifelong friends in co-workers and customers. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Pearl emigrated from Scotland in 1960. George and her brother, Patsy Cairns came in 1959 to get settled and prepare for the rest of the family. Her Auntie Ina and Uncle Ned O'Donnell hosted many Scots in their home on Lincoln Avenue. Pearl, George and Patricia joined the group who were welcomed to this new country. In 1967, they settled into the family home on Ninth Street with her Mum, Catherine Cairns, and began to live the dream. Pearl and George worked tirelessly to give their family everything. Anyone who knew Pearl, loved Pearl. Her accent and smile immediately drew people close and her huge heart and kind spirit kept them there forever. She was many things to many people for sure but all who knew her knew one thing - if you needed something or someone, Pearl was always there. She was a rock to many, especially her children. Pearl never asked for anything from anyone and now that she is gone, we are all lost and would ask for just one more cup of tea with her.

Survivors include her children, Catherine (Michael) D'Amico of Winter Park, FL, Mandi (Steve) Counter of Seattle, WA, and Sean Stewart of Vancouver, WA; three grandchildren, Kyle Sheehan, Marin and Andrew Counter; brother, Patrick Cairns of Beloit, WI; sister, Maureen (John) Laage of El Paso, TX; In-laws, Nancy Cairns, Irene (George) Brown, and Archie Stewart; godchildren Kerry (Joe) Thomas and niece, Kelly Cairns; nieces and nephews, Catherine (Graeme) Harrison, Shana Cairns, Patrick (Niki) Cairns, Shannon (William) Lake, Jillian (Chris) Findlay, Elaine (Stuart) Penman, Christine (Ian) White, Sandra (Jacques) Brown and Alan (Gil) Stewart; the O'Donnell Clan cousins and their families; close friend, Judy Porter Elliott; and many other relatives, neighbors and friends.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, George; her parents; daughter, Patricia Sheehan; granddaughter, Nicole Sheehan; sister, Rena Hall; in-laws, Ethel Stewart, Molly Donaldson and Ian Hall; nieces, Margaret Hall and Terry Cairns; and many other relatives.

Graveside service for Pearl will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 30, 2019 in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Pearl's name to the Alzheimer's Association or Beloit Regional Hospice.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.daleymurphywisch.com
