Brogan

Thomas Eugene "Heavy" Brogan, 73, of Beloit, WI, was welcomed into Heaven by a ton of family and friends that he missed dearly on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 after a strong battle with a rapid case of Liver Cancer. He has been a pure saint on earth and nothing but greatness waits for him on the other side.

He was born October 26, 1945 in Algona, IA, the son of Stanley and Mary Catherine (Rooney) Brogan. Tom was a 1964 graduate of Beloit Catholic High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees serving two tours in Vietnam. Tom married his best friend and soul mate Patricia Gienger on June 15, 1974 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Beloit, WI.

Tom was employed by Ecolab for over 40 years as a Control System Engineer, traveling all over the world, retiring in 2012. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, traveling to Ireland, Lake Tahoe, Panama Canal, Disney World with his family, and most recently to Hawaii. Tom was very helpful to others and would talk to anyone about anything. He loved doing home renovations and going to Menards where he was well known. Tom was a "True Storyteller" and had an outstanding memory. He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church where he was a dedicated usher.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Patricia Brogan of Beloit, WI; children, Cathleen (AJ) Prindle of Asheville, NC, Kimberly (Thad) Jacobson of Pleasant Prairie, WI and Margaret (Brad) Walters of Mt. Pleasant, WI; grandchildren, Ruby, Max, and Violet Prindle, Tyler, Lauren, and Emma Jacobson, Talia and Jacob Walters; brothers, Dennis Brogan and James Brogan both of Clarksville, TN; nieces, nephews, cousins from Iowa and others various States that were very special to him; in-laws and friends.

The family would like to express their thanks to Sara from Hospice for the care that was given to Tom.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers David Brogan and Michael Brogan, infant sister Catherine, and niece Jamie Brogan.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2222 Shopiere Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Michael Resop officiating.
