Jean Mary Hollis, 82, of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away at The Suites at Beloit (formerly Pioneer Court) in Beloit on March 5, 2019, due to complications from a long-term illness.
Jean was born in Clinton, Wisconsin, on May 12, 1936, the daughter of Roy and Helen (Cosgrove) Krantz.
Jean moved to Beloit as a young child. She attended and graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1955. On May 12, 1955, she married Leslie (Sonny) Hollis. Shortly thereafter they bought Jean's childhood home where they began raising their 3 children: Cindy, Lonnie and Mark. In addition to raising her own children she was often viewed by cousins and some neighborhood children as a second mother. She was a very caring person that was always worried about others. Prior to her illness Jean enjoyed collecting dolls, refinishing furniture, going to estate sales and flea markets and spending time with her family.
Jean is survived by her husband of 64 years, Leslie (Sonny) Hollis; children, Cindy (Randy) Juno, Lonnie (Laurie) Hollis, and Mark (Heather) Hollis; grandchildren, Jessica Juno, Jason Juno, Ryan Hollis, Erin Hollis, Alexia Hollis, Corey Hollis, and Annika "Annie" Hollis; many great grandchildren; twin sister, Joan (Jerry) Robertson; sister, Donna (Lobby) Haase; brother-in-law, Pete (Margaret) Hollis. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elizabeth Bouchard; brother, Thomas Krantz; and her lifelong friend, Ruth Francis.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at The Suites at Beloit for the outstanding compassion and care that they provided over the past 10 months.
