Gordon Laverne Keller, age 72, passed away surrounded by many loved ones on October 10, 2018 at UW Madison Hospital.
Gordon was born on December 14, 1945 in Beloit, the son of Robert and Lida (Chalmers) Keller.
Gordon traveled and worked for many years in the construction industry which grew into a passion during his golden years. He resided in Florida to escape the chilly Wisconsin winters but eventually moved back to the Beloit area to be closer to family. Gordon enjoyed his traveling years (accompanied by his favorite little cooler), visiting and helping family and friends along the way. He enjoyed repurposing items he would buy from garage or estate sales to create his masterpieces. Gordon was an avid MSNBC watcher, Wheel of Fortune guru and a big sports fan as he enjoyed watching football, boxing and golf. But most of all, Gordon will be remembered as a kind, witty handyman who always had something up his sleeve or in his truck that he could use to help fix anything for anyone from a smile to a rooftop.
Gordon is survived by one sister, Evelyn Wrick; his cousin-brothers, Bob (Jan) Sulser and Jim (Carol) Underhill; a granddaughter, Krysta Blood and her three daughters and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings, Keith Keller and Charlene Putz and one cousin-brother, Tom Sulser.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family in his memory.
Memorial services will be held at the Rosman Funeral Home, 1125 Cranston Road in Beloit on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 3:00 PM. A visitation will also take place at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
