John Piccione, 86, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, February 2, 2018 in his home.
He was born June 24, 1931 in Beloit, WI, the son of Joseph and Josephine Piccione. John was a 1949 graduate of Beloit High School. He was a veteran serving with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. John married Jewell Paul on April 7, 1965 in Beloit, WI. She predeceased him on October 27, 2015.
John was employed by the City of Beloit as the Assistant Greens Keeper for over 40 years. He enjoyed gardening and watching baseball, especially the Boston Red Sox. John loved spending time with and doting on his grandkids.
Survivors include his son, Giovanni (Stacy) Piccione of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Genaya and Jayden both of Beloit, WI; sister, Elizabeth Piccione of Milton, WI; nephew, Michael Piccione Jr. of Inverness, FL; and great nephew, Michael Piccione III.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Michael.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his caregivers, Cindy and Rob Hess for providing excellent and loving care to John for over two years and also to Jill Berg and Laura Williams from Agrace Hospice for all of their efforts.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, with Pastor David Meding officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation of remembrance will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in John's name to Agrace Hospice.
