The Rock County Honor Guard, which is comprised of various officers from county law enforcement agencies, stand at attention during a past Rock County Law Enforcement Memorial Service.

BELOIT - The Rock County Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony will be held starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Harry C. Moore Pavilion in Riverside Park.

The ceremony is held to honor law enforcement officers who have passed away. Beloit officers to be remembers and honored include Dan Daly, who died at the age of 48 on Nov. 15, 2021 due to complications from COVID-19. Also honored will be Pete Larsen, who was shot while responding to a kidnapping report on Jan. 4, 1985. The injuries left him in a comatose state until he passed away on Nov. 15, 1998 at the age of 51. Also honored will be Frederick Samp who was shot in 1935 while trying to apprehend two suspects. He died at the age of 42.

The memorial ceremony is being held as part of Law Enforcement Week.

In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at Barkin Arena at Beloit Memorial High School.
