Beloit man accused of stealing rare coins

TOWN OF BELOIT - A Beloit man is being accused of stealing rare coins from a Town of Beloit home.

John L. Isaacson, 57, faces possible charges of burglary and theft following his arrest on Thursday, according to a Town of Beloit Police Department news release.

Town of Beloit police responded to a report of a burglary at about 3 p.m. on July 27 at a residence in the 2200 block of Pow Wow Trail. Forced entry had been made into the home and an undisclosed amount of rare collector coins had been taken. The investigation developed suspect information which was posted on the Town of Beloit Police department's Facebook page.

With the public's help Isaacson was taken into custody on Thursday and is awaiting a court appearance. The arrest was made with the assistance of the Beloit Police Department and the Rock County Sheriff's Department.

The stolen property has not been located. Anyone with information pertaining to rare silver coins is asked to contact the Town of Beloit Police Department or the non-emergency line at 608-757-2244.
