BELOIT - There has been a change in leadership at Community Health Systems, which oversees Beloit Area Community Health Center (BACHC).
Julie Sprecher, who has served as executive director of Community Health Systems since July of 2015, is no longer with the organization. Mary Beth Johnson, Chief Operations Officer, has been named interim executive director of Community Health Systems. Johnson joined Community Health Systems as COO earlier this year.
Monica Krysztopa, marketing manager for Community Health System, said the leadership change occurred July 17. She said Community Health System does not publicly discuss personnel issues.
The search for a new executive director will be the responsibility of the board of directors. Megge Casique, who is chair of the board of directors, said the board has not contacted a consultant or search firm as of yet to assist in the search for a new executive director, but she anticipates that will be the direction the board takes. She said it is hoped the search will begin soon and Community Health System will decide who the new executive director will be in less than a year.
Beloit Area Community Health Center currently is the only facility overseen by Community Health Systems. The organization used to oversee centers in Darlington and Janesville along with the Beloit facility.
Last month, the organization announced it had made good on payment to its final creditor and officially it is out of bankruptcy. The organization file for bankruptcy protection in 2014 after it amassed a $1 million deficit.
