TOWN OF BELOIT - A Town of Beloit man was arrested Thursday and is accused of threatening a woman if she did not perform sexual acts for money.
Marktana C. Ruffin, 32, was booked into the Rock County Jail Thursday and faces a possible charge of human trafficking, according to a news release from the Town of Beloit Police Department.
Town of Beloit police received information that a woman was being held against her will in a residence in the Town of Beloit. After receiving this information, phone contact was made with this victim, who reported that the suspect was at this residence with her and he was reportedly refusing to allow her to leave the residence. The victim reported that the suspect was threatening to cause her bodily harm if she did not commit sex acts for money.
The victim requested immediate assistance in being rescued/recovered from this residence. Officers with the Town of Beloit Police Department immediately responded to this location and recovered the victim from the residence without further incident.
The investigation is ongoing, the news release from the Town of Beloit police stated.
