JANESVILLE - A Beloit man is accused of robbing a business in Janesville at gunpoint Wednesday morning.
Carlos Ford, 52, faces possible charges of armed robbery and obstructing/resisting an officer, according to a news release from the Janesville Police Department.
Police were called to 5 Points Grocery and Beverage at 600 W. Milwaukee St. at about 1:45 a.m. to investigate a report of an armed robbery. A suspect displayed a handgun and took cash and other items from the store. He left some items behind, which aided police in identifying the suspect, according to the news release.
Police later were called to a residence in the 2500 block of North Sumac for a reported hostage situation. Eventually, Ford and a woman exited the residence. Ford reportedly resisted and an officer was injured while placing him under arrest, according to the release.
