BELOIT - Professional golfer Kevin Streelman will be the featured guest at the 33rd annual Beloit Health System Foundation Pro-Am golf event July 30 at the Beloit Club.
Streelman, a native of Winfield, Illinois, turned pro in 2001. He has two PGA tour wins - the Tampa Bay Championship in 2013 and the Travelers Championship in 2014. Streelman's currently ranked 175 in the World Golf Ranking.
"We are so excited to welcome Kevin to the Pro-Am. We know his experience on the tour is going to make him a great addition to this yearly event," said Lara Hermann, executive director of the Beloit Health System Foundation.
Streelman was a caddy at the Chicago Golf Club, which was a venue three times for the U.S. Open. He graduated from Duke University and played on the Duke golf team with fellow PGA pro Leif Olson.
The Pro-Am is one of the main fundraising events for the foundation. It features 96 amateur golfers and 24 state pro golfers. Each team includes four amateurs and one pro golfer. The featured guest pro is stationed at the 10th hole to play that hole with each fivesome.
The Pro-Am event also features a dinner, which welcomes up to 200 guests, as well as a silent auction, featuring donated items that include travel packages, artwork and more. The event also has featured a putt for cash offering a $10,000 prize, as well as a hole-in-one contest sponsored by area car dealers.
Proceeds from this year's event will go toward the renovation of Beloit Memorial Hospital's Family Care Center. Last year the Pro-Am was able to raise about $125,000.
Major sponsors for the Pro-Am are First National Bank and Trust, Kerry Inc., Regal Beloit Corporation and TRICOR Insurance and Financial Services. Fairbanks Morse Engine is the special gift sponsor.
