Beloit business a finalist in statewide contest

MADISON - First Class Cosmetology at 306 State St. in downtown Beloit is among five businesses named as finalists in the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation's (WEDC's) Main Street Makeover Contest.

Businesses in 34 communities that are part of the Wisconsin Main Street Program had the opportunity to nominate themselves for a "makeover" that will take place in the spring of 2020.

The winning business will receive personalized technical assistance and up to $10,000 to implement recommended changes, which could include interior and exterior design improvements.

Other finalists were Chefusion in Green Bay, Flex & Burn in Kenosha, Ted's Pizza Palace in Menomonie and Kingsley Crossing in Shullsburg.

The winner will be announced in mid-January.
