JANESVILLE - Rock County has been awarded a $63,981 Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) grant from the federal government.
The EFSP funding is awarded through the Department of Homeland Security.
Local agencies eligible for funds must be private, voluntary nonprofits with a voluntary board or units of government and must have an accounting system. Agencies also must practice non-discrimination and must have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs. Agencies are encouraged to apply for funds.
The Local Board of the EFSP is facilitated by Mary Fanning-Penny, President and CEO of United Way Blackhawk Region.
