Rock County has new director of Child Support

JANESVILLE - Melissa Wittwer has been appointed Director of the Rock County Child Support Department, according to a news release from county administrator Josh Smith.

Wittwer has served in Rock County's Child Support Department since 2013.

She is currently Rock County's Interim Child Support Director and has served as a Supervisor since 2015.

She has been responsible for interpretation and implementation of federal rules and regulations, development of office policies and procedures, and managing client and partner relationships.

Wittwer also managed special projects, such as the department's transition to electronic records.

In her role as Director of Child Support, she will be responsible for managing more than 11,000 child support cases annually, including ensuring that the court system has sufficient information to establish paternity and child support orders.
