TOWN OF SPRING VALLEY - An Evansville man was arrested this morning for a possible seventh Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) offense following a crash north of Orfordville.

Robert L. Zapata, 54, was driving north on State Highway 213 near West Lang Road shortly after midnight when he hit a tree branch that had knocked down power lines, according to a news release from the Rock County Sheriff's Office.

It was discovered Zapata had seven prior OWI convictions. He was taken into custody and is being held in the Rock County Jail in Janesville.

An OWI is a felony in Wisconsin upon the fourth offense.
