Man who died in Hwy 251 crash identified

MACHESNEY PARK, Ill. - The man who died when his Corvette flipped over on Highway 251 near Route 173 in Machesney Park on Friday has been identified.

Steven O'Rourke, 69, of Machesney Park, died due to blunt trauma to the head, according to a news release from the Winnebago County Coroner's Office.

O'Rourke was driving on Highway 251 when the Corvette he was driving hit a bump, flipped over and hit two other cars near the intersection with Route 173, according to reports.

The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the crash.
