Renewed support from the United Way Blackhawk Region will bring $56,000 over the course of two years to the Southwest Wisconsin Chapter of the Red Cross, which delivers services to the Rock County and Stateline area. The funding will specifically go toward emergency response to disaster services, such as residential fires, the most common disaster experienced by people in the U.S. "We can make a direct connection between this support and the families in need after a disaster in Rock County," said Mooney. "With backing from the United Way Blackhawk Region, we know that families in Beloit, Janesville and across Rock County will have those basic recovery essentials in place."
