RRVBC announces critical need for local blood and platelet supply

Print Article

The recent Labor Day holiday and an increase of usage due to traumas, has resulted in a marked decrease in available blood and platelets at the Rock River Valley Blood Center (RRVBC). As of this week, the blood center has a critical need for all blood types. They are asking people to help ensure blood and platelets are available for local patients by keeping or making an appointment to donate, especially if able to donate this week or next.

Rock River Valley Blood Center has four donor centers located at:

• 1740 State St., Belvidere

• 3086 Perryville Road, Rockford

• 419 N. 6th St., Rockford.

• 461 E. South St., Freeport.

For more information or to make an appointment call 816-965-8751 or visit their website at www.RRVBC.org.
