Wild Ones program to feature entomologist

ROCKFORD - Wild Ones next monthly program will feature "Common Spiders of the Midwest" at 7 p.m. on Sept. 19 at Rock Valley College, Physical Education Center PEC0110, 3301 N. Mulford Road, Rockford.

In this presentation, P.J. Liesch, extension entomologist and director of the University of Wisconsin Insect Diagnostic Lab, will take a closer look at our eight-legged neighbors, with an emphasis on common myths, spider biology and the diversity of the Midwest's spider fauna.

Liesch has been involved with insect-related research and outreach since 2005. He is an avid insect collector and has an inordinate fondness for beetles. He can be found Tweeting about life as an entomologist at @WiBugGuy.
