Winnebago County summer passport program begins

Forest Preserves of Winnebago County's (FPWC) "Get Outside, Get Healthy!" summer passport program is back and includes a lineup of hiking, fishing, paddling, camping, nature study and golf activities, as well as health-focused activities such as yoga and walking meditation. The back-to-nature program is free and appropriate for all ages.

To play, participants have their passports validated at each activity to qualify for a grand prize. Details are available at winnebagoforest.org.

Passports can be picked up at any of these participating locations: FPWC headquarters, 5500 Northrock Drive, Rockford; Severson Dells Nature Center, 8786 Montague Road, Rockford; Klehm Arboretum and Botanic Garden, 2715 S. Main St., Rockford; Sand Bluff Bird Observatory, 5209 Haas Road, Shirland; Rocktown Adventures, 313 N. Madison St., Rockford.
