'God bless our great country'

Print Article

On behalf of the Rock-Ford A's Model A Club, I'd like to thank all of those who worked so hard to make this year's Memorial Day Parade such a great success, especially the VFW, and the Beloit and South Beloit Police Departments.

It was wonderful to see such huge crowds along the parade route, and so many dressed in red, white and blue and waving flags. It was very beautiful to see.

We especially appreciated the "no candy throwing from vehicles" rule, and know the kids are so much safer when the walkers throw goodies instead.

Even the weather held out to make the event more enjoyable, we got lucky! We worked exclusively with Mike Bendickson and the United Veteran's Memorial Day Parade Committee. He is to be commended for his excellent communication, patience, Facebook information, and years of service and dedicated involvement in this great parade.

We would also like to thank Neli's restaurant, South Beloit, for their support.

Our almost 90-year-old cars and our not-so-old drivers plan on coming back again next year. God bless our great country!
