'The place is train wreck'

Print Article

The real truth that everyone says in private is that the two assistant superintendents, Bonds and Williams, have been in charge of running the school district from the end of the Steve McNeal era to the present, and the place is a train wreck.

Along with the bullying of Dennis Baskin and the pot stirring of Pam Charles, there have been so many egos and agendas at play that they have destroyed the district.

We can't toss Pam because of her recent re-election, but Baskin jumped ship as did Tom Johnson, leaving only Bonds and Williams, both of whom we can toss. Williams' sideways reassignment should have been a forced exit.

The three women who left the board are also to blame for their abandoning ship. They should have stayed and forced the needed changes.

Give the new superintendent a clean plate to fill with competent, right-meaning public servants. Clear the decks.
