'Sports celebrity can be example'

Print Article

On Saturday June 9th, CASA of Rock County hosted a fundraising event with Corey Linsley (starting center for the Green Bay Packers) and his wife, Anna.

In addition to being affiliated with the Packers, he and his wife are also advocates for children involved with Child Protection Services. It is great to see this kind of community service and dedication in giving the children who need a voice, a voice. CASA volunteers give children the ability to be heard.while so many others do the talking for them.

We need more people to stand for the best interests of children. The Packer organization has a high-class world reputation for having a culture unlike any other NFL team. This includes community service, dedication, and loyalty. The Linsley's demonstrate this culture to its finest.

It was an honor and a lifetime experience to see Corey not only take the time to talk to everyone, but to talk to children (my son included) at their level, reviving my hope that a famed person can be a hero. With fame comes responsibility.and I'm proud to have shaken the hand of a sports celebrity who I can use as an example for my son and other children with whom I work with. Work hard, play harder, and give back to the community by helping others.

Thank you, and proud to be a Packer fan!
