'Tony Rallo was a special man'

Print Article

Anthony "Tony" Rallo passed away recently. He operated the Standard gas stations in South Beloit for more years than anyone can recall.

He was a very close friend of mine. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner together often. We played many a round of golf together, but mostly, we talked, as close friends do. When his wife Pauline passed, he was crushed. He told me she was the glue that held their family together. He visited her grave every day.

Tony was fortunate; he found Lois, his second wife, who I am convinced is a gift sent directly to him from God. She was there at the end caring for him every minute. They had many wonderful years together.

Tony was a special man. He could be gruff at times but had a heart of gold. I hope all of us in the South Beloit and Beloit area always remember all the kind and wonderful things he did for his fellow human beings and his community. I miss him greatly.
