The Beloit Rotary Club has recognized Shelvin Garret II and Devin Stavn as Rotary Students of the Week for Beloit Memorial High School.

Shelvin Garret II is the son of Monica and Shelvin Garrett I.

Shelvin has been a high honor roll student all four years at Beloit Memorial receiving awards for Outstanding Academic Achievement and the Superintendent Scholars Award. Shelvin is a member of the BMHS National Honor Society.

While at BMHS, Shelvin has been involved with the Beloit College Help Yourself program.

Athletically Shelvin is a member of the BMHS football, boys basketball and track and field teams. He has been a three-time state qualifier for frack and field. In football Shelvin earned the All Big 8 First Team and the Dennis E. Wilson Memorial Football Most Valuable Player award.

Outside of BMHS, Shelvin is actively involved in Athletic Performance Training and with his church.

Shelvin’s future plans with college are undecided at this time, but he would like to major in exercise science.

Devin Stavn is the son of Sean Stavn and Laura Hernandez.

Devin has been a high honor roll student all four years at Beloit Memorial receiving awards for Outstanding Academic Achievement and the Superintendent Scholars Award.

Devin has also earned the Science Department Award. Devin is a member of the BMHS National Honor Society.

While at BMHS, Devin has been involved with LULAC.

Athletically Devin is a member of the BMHS boys soccer team where he was captain his senior year.

Devin will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Stout to major in hotel management and tourism. He would like to travel and own his own hotel or resort.
