Beloit Public Library (BPL) and Hedberg Public Library (HPL) donated 100 early literacy book bags to families of Early Start in Rock and Walworth counties. Each bag included a new picture book, early literacy workbook, box of crayons, and promotional materials highlighting early literacy programs and resources available at both libraries. Bags were distributed to families in Beloit and Janesville by Early Start Home Visitors. BPL and HPL have partnered with Rock Walworth Comprehensive Family Services Head Start and Early Head Start for the past several years to provide parenting workshops and early literacy story times to promote school readiness for families of Rock County.
