JANESVILLE - Rock County Council on Aging (RCCA) and the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Rock County will host Dementia Live, an opportunity to briefly experience the challenges and struggles of a person living with dementia. The event will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on Feb. 6 at the Rock County Job Center, 1900 Center Ave., Janesville.
Dementia Live provides participants a real-life simulation of what it is like to live with dementia. Participants gain greater awareness and understanding of the struggles affecting persons with dementia which will lead to more sensitive care. Each individual experience lasts 30 to 45 minutes.
Attendees can also enjoy pizza, company and a chance to share some of their own story. This program is free and open to any family on the Alzheimer's or related dementia journey, or someone wanting to learn more about Alzheimer's disease or related dementia.
