ROSCOE - Local residents can get a first-hand look at the new NorthPointe Surgery Center during an open house set for 10 a.m. - noon Sept. 16 at the NorthPointe Health and Wellness Campus at 5605 E. Rockton Road.
The new addition to the NorthPointe Health and Wellness Campus facility took more than two years to become a reality, as the Illinois Health Facilities Review Board first had to review and approve the $15.27 million facility. Klobucar Construction was the general contractor for the facility and construction on the two-story, 30,939-square-foot center began in April of 2016.
Tours of the facility will be offered during the open house and guests will be able to sign up for prizes including bicycles, back-to-school supplies, NorthPointe Fitness memberships and more. Refreshments also will be available to guests.
The two-story surgery center offers the latest surgical technology for a variety of specialties including ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat), facial plastics, gastrointestinal procedures/testing, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, pain management and podiatry.
The center has two operating rooms, two procedure rooms, eight private pre-operation/post operation rooms and six recovery bay areas. The waiting area also features a TV screen where loved ones can view information about the progress of procedures and when a patient procedure is in progress, when the procedure is complete and when a patient is in recovery.
The center has 24 full-time equivalent staff positions and three orthopedic surgeons.
The center was built in part to enhance the flow of operations at Beloit Memorial Hospital. With the NorthPointe facility taking on much of the outpatient procedures, the hospital can concentrate on more intricate surgeries.
