City of S Beloit awarded $294,735 IHDA grant

SOUTH BELOIT — The City of South Beloit has been awarded a grant of $294,735 from the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) to participate in the Single Family Rehabilitation Program, which assists low-income homeowners make necessary repairs to their homes.

The program will provide homeowners up to $45,000 in forgivable assistance to make long overdue repairs.

Funded through the Illinois Affordable Housing Trust Fund, the Single Family Rehabilitation Program provides grants to units of local government and community-based organizations to help low-income homeowners afford costly repairs and expenses, including the removal of health and safety hazards by replacing costly maintenance items.
