The Beloit Rotary Club presented the Beloit Public Library Foundation with $10,000 to support The Blender Café, which will be opening in the library in the spring of 2017. The Library Foundation supports projects that lets the library expand its services to the local community.

The Blender Café is a unique partnership of the Beloit Public Library, Beloit Memorial High School, and Kerry Ingredients, designed to support jobs and careers training, an important element of the library’s mission. The café will be staffed by students in the high school’s hospitality program, giving students real world experience as an extension of their education. Kerry Ingredients will provide training for students and other career support.

The Beloit Rotary Club exists to support goodwill projects locally and globally. The Club voted to donate $10,000 to the Beloit Public Library’s Blender Café. The Beloit Rotary Club will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in two years. Membership is open to any and all individuals who would like to help make a difference within their local community and the world. Recent local projects include supporting the new building for the Beloit Public Library, supporting Kids Against Hunger, and providing scholarships for high school students to continue their education.
