BELOIT — Golf enthusiasts may have a new place to tee off.

Geronimo Hospitality Group filed an application with the City of Beloit to construct an indoor entertainment venue with a golf simulation lab in the Ironworks complex at 625-701 Third St, according to city records.

“We are supportive of this business and think it will be a nice addition to the Ironworks campus,” said Julie Christensen, Beloit community development director.

The proposed golf simulation lab is approximately 8,000 square feet and will have digital simulators, a putting surface, driving range, and a lobby and bar near the entrance, according to city records.

City Council referred the proposal to the Plan Commission. After reviewed by the commission, the proposal will return to City Council for possible approval.

Christensen said city officials are not worried about the alcohol portion of the application, but the Alcohol Committee and City Council have to approve the license.

Geronimo Hospitality states in the proposal the golf simulation will be open to the public and is scheduled for completion Nov. 30.
