Hononegah stays perfect in NIC-10 play

ROCKTON - The Hononegah volleyball team remained unbeaten in NIC-10 play with a sweep over Rockford East Tuesday night.

The Indians defeated the E-Rabs 25-7, 25-11 to improve to 7-0, where they remain in a tie with Belvidere North.

Kenzie Kidd led the Indians with six aces. Jade Hoper had six kills and Olivia Taylor had eight digs for Hononegah.

The Indians will travel to Rockford Boylan Thursday night.

• EVANSVILLE-ALBANY 3, CLINTON 1: The Cougars lost a hard-fought match Tuesday, falling to Evansville-Albany 25-20, 19-25, 25-11, 27-25. Molly Kemp led the Cougars with seven kills while Felicia Teubert had 15 digs and five aces.

Kallie Inman had 11 assists and 14 digs while Grace Farrell added 10 assists and 14 digs.

• SOUTH BELOIT 2, WESTMINSTER CHRISTIAN 1: The SoBos scored a road victory Tuesday, defeating Westminster Christian 25-16, 17-25, 25-19. The SoBos will be back in action Wednesday when they host Warren.

• EDGERTON 3, BELOIT TURNER 0: The Trojans dropped their Rock Valley Conference opener Tuesday night in Edgerton, losing 25-15, 25-19, 25-13. Gabbi Gaziano led the Trojans with six kills. Carolyn Johnson had 10 digs, while Gracie DeZwarte had nine assists and a pair of aces.

The Trojans will face Whitewater in their home opener Thursday.

• PARKVIEW 3, MADISON COUNTRY DAY 0: The Vikings improved to 2-0 in Trailways Conference play with a 25-5, 15-13, 25-6 romp over Madison Country Day in Orfordville.

Taylor Burrell had six killls, Payton Segerstrom had 14 assists and Kylie Redman had six aces to lead the Vikings.
