Blue Devils pull away from Cougars, win 80-52

CLINTON, Wis. - The Clinton Cougars looked primed to pull an upset at halftime of their game against Evansville Thursday night. The Cougars trailed by just a point at 33-32.

Then the second half happened. The talented Blue Devils flipped a switch and when the dust cleared, Evansville had outscored Clinton 47-20 in the second half on its way to an 80-52 victory.

Zach Mielke scored 20 of his game-high 26 points after intermission, while Sulley Geske finished with 18. Clinton was led by Caleb Gracyalny, who scored 13 points and Zach Krause, who added 10.

. BRODHEAD 60, BIG FOOT 58: Justice Tway made the game-winning shot with one second left as Brodhead picked up a road win Thursday night.

Tway, who finished with 17 points, scored on a feed from Brekan Day who finished with 18.

Big Foot was led by Logan Eischeid, who scored 26 points to lead all scorers.

• PARKVIEW 71, DODGELAND 57: The Vikings received another strong game from Eli Hoscheit, who put in 25 points to lead four Parkview players in double figures as they won for the second time in three games this week.

Justin Blach scored 14 points, while Jarrett Brown and Ayden Campbell each added 13 points for Parkview, who led 30-23 at halftime.

• GIRLS BASKETBALL: BELLEVILLE 71, PARKVIEW 42: The Vikings were blitzed from the start Thursday, falling behind 39-24 at half en route to a 29-point defeat. Hunter Baars scored 13 points to lead the Vikings, while Kalin O'Rourke scored 28 to lead Belleville.
