ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Beloit College men's basketball team got its season off to a sluggish start Wednesday when they fell 60-56 at Rockford University.
The Bucs led 29-26 at halftime, but were outscored by the Regents 34-27 in the second half. Beloit had three players finish with 12 points: Tristan Shoup, Carlton Henning and Mason Jones, who came off the bench to put his points up.
Beloit struggled mightily shooting the ball, finishing at 35 percent overall, which included a 3-for-22 performance from beyond the arc. Beloit struggled at the free throw line as well, going just 5-for-12.
Rockford actually shot worse from the field (32 percent), but won the game at the free throw line, going 18-for-24.
The Bucs will be back in action Saturday at 1 p.m. when they host Macalester.
