Mark Eugene Peterson, 63, of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at his home in Beloit.
Mark was born on July 9, 1954 in Beloit, the son of Thomas Richard and Bonnie Dean (Swanson) Peterson. He graduated from Beloit Turner High School in 1972 and attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point where he majored in Wild Life Biology. Mark married the former Jackie Latina Baldwin on April 3, 1993 in Beloit.
Mark was employed for several years at Vortron Incorporated in Beloit. He was then employed at Taylor Freezer in Rockton, Illinois for over 30 years, retiring in 2016. Mark was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. He even painted his fishing boat and trailer green and yellow. Mark enjoyed spending time outdoors. He had a passion for fishing. Mark also enjoyed bowling, and spending time in with his family. In his younger years Mark was active in Boy Scouts of America where he achieved the highest rank of Eagle Scout.
Mark is survived by his wife Jackie, sons, Victor (Brianna Klein) Peterson of Janesville, Wisconsin, and James Peterson, grandson, Jasiya Peterson, brothers, Cary (Jody) Peterson all of Beloit, and Randy (Tamara) Peterson of Janesville, nieces, Sandy Peterson, Mandy Blood, Elisa Peterson, Erin Peterson, and Tina Peterson, nephews, Joshua Peterson, and Eric Peterson, several cousins, other relatives, and friends including a special friend George O'Brien. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Thomas Peterson, and sister, Terresa Peterson.
Services are 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Fountain of Life Church 1600 East Huebbe Parkway, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 26, 2018 at Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home 424 Prospect Street, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
