Ethel A. Strasser, 97, of South Beloit, IL, died Wednesday, February 21, 2018 in her home.
She was born February 15, 1921 in Merrill, WI, the daughter of Herbert and Florence (Henrich) Priebe. Ethel married Lawrence Strasser on March 18, 1939 in Merrill, WI. He predeceased her on September 20, 1993.
Ethel enjoyed sewing, making her children's clothes and going to the lake in Minocqua fishing. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her children, Robert (Kathleen) Strasser of South Beloit, IL, Glen (Sandy) Strasser of South Beloit, IL, and Pamela (James) Burton of South Beloit, IL; daughter-in-law, Thelma Strasser of Friendship, WI; grandchildren, Todd (Anne) Strasser of South Beloit, IL, Lynn Grover of Beloit, WI, Mark (Krystin) Strasser of Verona, WI, Dr. Michael Strasser of Huntley, IL, Jody Strasser of Verona, WI, Brian (Gretchen) Strasser of South Beloit, IL, Jill (Brian) Golon of Windsor, WI, Jason Burton of South Beloit, IL, Kimberly Burton of South Beloit, IL, and Amanda (Shawn) Guffey of South Beloit, IL; 18 great grandchildren, Abby Fears, Parker and Sophia Golon, Jenna and Kyle Strasser, Madeline and Cole Montgomery, Calvin and Lucas Strasser, Paige (Tyler) Lathrop, Margo Grover, Austin Grover, Benjamin Strasser, Rachel Strasser, Jaid Burton, Andrew Burton, Hannah Augusta Guffey, and Samantha Guffey; sister-in-law, Marie Leopold of Merrill, WI; and brother-in-law, Ed Strasser of Merrill, WI.
She was predeceased by her parents, son Gerald Strasser, two great grandchildren, Liam and Elizabeth Strasser, four brothers Edward, Raymond, Myron, and Larry.
Funeral service for Ethel will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1305 Blackhawk Blvd, South Beloit, IL, with Reverend Dr. Richard J. Meier officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery, South Beloit, IL. Visitation of remembrance will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
