Helen Marie Genna, 88, of Palm Harbor, Florida and formerly of South Beloit, died peacefully on January 18, 2018, at Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Harnisch and her husband Frank P. Genna. Helen was the last surviving of 14 siblings born to William and Mary. They all grew up and worked on the family farm in Boyceville, Wisconsin, where they all learned the value of hard work and perseverance.
Helen and Frank retired to Florida in 1980 after selling the popular night club in the stateline area, Frank and Mike's. Helen worked for several years for Albertson's Grocery Store after moving to Florida and she enjoyed her community pool on her days off where she met and socialized with her neighbors. She also enjoyed spending time at the beautiful sandy beaches in the Clearwater, Florida area.
She is survived by her daughters Rebecca (Garry) Romeo-Kendall of Riverside, California and Rhonda (E.J.) Streu of Peoria, Arizona; and sons Randy (Debra) Genna of Roscoe, Illinois and Rocco Genna of Holiday, Florida; grandchildren Jayson Romeo, Paul Alongi, and Frank Alongi; three great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service in Helen's honor was held at Dobies Funeral Home in Tarpon, Florida on January 25, 2018.
